Sports Facilities in Amravati
In today’s fast paced world with too much stress, sports activities are a must for all ages. Playing any sports helps one to stay in shape, vent off the excess energy, helps us to organize time, heightens the sharpness of mind, builds and boosts friendship. Sports provide much needed physical exercise for our whole body and helps in a good metabolism and a stronger heart. People indulging in at least one sport, are found to be more immune towards the present lifestyle diseases. Kids should be encouraged to join some good club or play in their locality, rather than remaining occupied in their Play Stations.
Sports have been given quite an importance in Maharashtra state. It is a known fact that, the state has given some of the iconic cricketers of India like Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar. This has led to the desire of playing cricket more in the state. Amravati district likewise has many good cricket associations, helping kids with their sports dreams. Vidharbha Cricket Association which is a part of the VCA Residential Academy of Nagpur, is one of the best cricket associations of Amravati, offering residential cricket training programs.
This association is under BCCI administration with time to time talent scouting programs. Amravati has also got Shree Hanuman Vyamyam Prasarak Mandal, an organization with the main aim of promoting sports and other physical education in the district. The organization has its own cricket academy, also offering short courses on Kabaddi and Kho-Kho, the almost extinct Indian sports. This institute offers various training programs on basketball, martial arts, athletics, table tennis and archery.
The Rajapeth Sports Club, Warrior Sports Academy and Jog Stadium are also few of the well known sports academy. The Maharashtra government is trying to set up a tribal sports academy in Amravati district, where poor tribal future talents can practice under good coaches and international quality equipment. These programs will include free trainings with quality nutritional food for their physical development.
Reebok Sports Centre is one of the largest sports shops in the district. It offers world class sporting gear and equipments for the local talents of Amravati. Sports has been given so much importance in the region, that the local government has ordered all the urban schools of the Amravati district to keep good sport equipments in school for physical training of all the students. Many schools offer good sporting activities after school hours for the students. Some of these activities are being made mandatory.
